DBPC offers unique conversations and provides real-world solutions that empower clients to take their future into their own hands and have the life and career they desire.

Since 2012, DBPC has partnered with clients nationwide who are unemployed or underemployed and those who are unsure of their life purpose and how to achieve happiness. These challenges can be overcome by realizing your unique value, developing a personal brand around that value, and continuously “reinventing” yourself to showcase that value throughout the transitions in your life and career.  DBPC truly believes that people really just need 2 things – confidence and a chance.  Confidence comes from having the appropriate knowledge and a chance comes if you position yourself correctly.

Passionate. Personable. Experienced.

Hi! Welcome to my corner of the world...so glad you found me! I am a Career & Life Coach who is truly passionate about helping people get from where they are to where they want to be. My passion in this area stems from my own life and career transitions – some voluntary and some not. My journey to self-realization started after experiencing my 2nd job lay off several years ago. I was questioning myself, my intellect, my abilities, and my life purpose. It was during this time that I discovered that at my core – I like to help other people and see them be successful. I realized the best way for me to do that was to share my experiences and my mistakes and pour my knowledge into others to save them from the same frustration that I’d been through.

So how did I become a Career & Life Coach?

By accident!! I didn’t set out to become a coach, but that’s the path that life took me down. I started in Information Technology and was laid off when the company downsized. I went on to become a retail Store

Manager and this is when my journey of coaching and mentoring others began. I oversaw nearly 60 employees and while training them on customer-focused service, I always took the time to talk with them about their goals. I later became a Career Planning Instructor and taught 500+ adult learners as they transitioned in the workforce. I was awarded for student retention and attendance because I was able to transform the way my students viewed themselves and their potential by incorporating real-life scenarios and solutions. Eventually, I worked in higher education as the Assistant Director of Career Services and liaised between the Career Center, campus departments, and nearly 200 employers. I currently work with individuals and teams to identify needs, facilitate training programs, and advise leadership on best practices for enhancing performance.

My diverse professional background of nearly 25 years causes me to be able to connect with people from various backgrounds and experiences and understand their story. Then, I’m able to take their individual story and come up with solutions to get them past their pain points to where they want to be. I am a great listener, empathetic thought partner, and ultimately committed to supporting and motivating you to reach your highest self professionally and personally. I’ve discovered that the main ingredient in career and life coaching is connecting the dots for others, helping them to realize their unique value, and teaching them how to implement that unique value over and over again.

A little bit about me personally...

I’m from Mississippi (born and raised) and a graduate of Jackson State University. I currently reside in the Washington, DC area and in my spare time I enjoy reading, singing, exercising, and doing community service with my sorority, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc.
